It is easier to read but it's better to go digital. I have a high accuracy one and it reads 4 degrees too low.

digital is the way to go. you can set it to a temp and it will beep when it is ready. i set it to 50c. then i turn on the cooling water and set to 78c. then i change the collection jar and set to 79c. it also has a timer.

"Are posting about the Digital unit sold by Brewhaus?
My concern is the accuracy of the digital units (ie reviews here and on Mile High's site). Can these be zero'ed?"

"Here's a link that you can use to calibrate the digital thermometer. http://www.csgnetwork.com/h2oboilcalc.htmlI googled ""boiling point at altitudes"". I had to do it because I'm at a pretty high altitude and needed to know why the good stuff was coming off at 167 degrees F. It should be 78.15oC according to this link: http://www.ucc.ie/academic/chem...m/html/comp/ethanol.htmlSteve"

"From what I'm seeing there isn't a zero button like on a multimeter it's done in the mind of the user. Say it's of by +10C just figure that in the reading?
Thanks, appreciate the links."
