i have a lot of experience on the 1100 watt plate. due to my own actions it is dead. i am getting the 1500 watt plate Monday. can any one give me any advice on this plate? wade i know you use it on a high capacity rig. can you tell what i can expect. do you reduce the heat when it is up to speed or do you run it full speed? i have the ee2. thanks for any help.

1st bypass the controller & get a router controller off ebay. It's just a wire swap to bypass. On my ee2 pro I run wide open, but I believe the 2" model can't handle the heatso you will need to adjust it down after it gets hot.

not exactly sure what a router is but dropped in to a local lighting electrical shop and picked up a heavy duty dimmer switch rated at 1500 watts. Bout 30 bucks. You can set that sucker to hold your pot exactly where you want.

Router controller is a variable speed device for a router, it will run much cooler than that lamp dimmer."

I run mine at full on my high capacity and it doesnt vary at all, once yo drop down the heat it will cycle though and that will be a problem probably for the smaller unit!
