"Hi, you all,,, I just did a sugar wash, and was thinking the Turbo yeast would go to 20%, so I added enough sugar to get there, according to my hydrometer. It worked for nearly 2 weeks, and has not quit. I took another hydrometer reading, and it's not ""dry"" (can't remember the specific reading right now, and I'm not at home to look at my hydrometer... it went down to the 2% alcohol potential, whatever reading that is). Anyway, I was wondering if I can still run this stuff through an EasyStill w/o problems, or is something going to happen? If it's going to foam, I have some ""anti-foam"" I can add, but figured I'd ask the experts before just bumbling on. Thanks,,, Gary"

If so wouldn't be worth running. The SG with so much sugar stiffled your yeast. IF thats the case, dilute your wash and repitch with a yeast starter and you should be fine. Try ec 1118 or equivelant, if you have used a turbo or plenty of nutrients and such to begin with. If you meant you were 2% short of completion, distill away."

Yeah, I meant 2% left to completion... started out potential 20% on hydrometer, and ended up 2%, meaning it's probably about 18% alcohol, but still 2% not fermented.

You are good for a stripping run now. If it were I, i Would allow it to completely finish, and wait till it cleared, or use sparkaloid or other fining agents. Then the stripping run before the spirit run."

OK, Mtnwalker2, THANKS for the information. As I mentioned in my first post, I have an EasyStill,,, it only runs at one speed...no stripping runs, etc. :) Will proceed like it was a completed ferment... I've put the sparkaloid in it already, just waiting for the "all clear". Thanks again!

"Boil it hard to make it completely dissolve, not long just hard or rapid while stirring. Works like a champ, usually I've seen 10-13 grams used for 25L bucket. You'll see it clearing over the next day 1 or 2.
Cheapest things going into this at 2.99US for 100 grams."

Thanks for the info, though! Gary"
