"I'm curious being new and just making my first sugar wash with Turbo Pure 48. If it makes the 18%, has/does anyone filter the wash, maybe add a flavor and drink it?
Edited to add...Reason mostly is the wife. If I was to distill it to a respectable %, I would just end up mixing to her palate which would end up probably lower than 18% anyway. Beer here is 5% and the coconut rum she likes is around 17% and that I have to mix half with orange juice. Can I make a good tasting drink from the wash?"

Maybe but I would just try fermenting something else like an apple juice as it would taste good when done.

"Hmmm, well I was thinking of possibly adding a juice concentrate to the end of the ferment. Is that possible or advisable? You mean nobody here has even tried drinking sugar wash? It sure smells good so far "

EWWWWW, no, it doesnt really taste good. As far as adding something with sugar back to a fermented substance you will need to add both sulfite and sorbate to prevent it from starting fermenting all over again.

So you tried it I guess? Straight out of the bucket or did you filter it?
