I Stripped 50 Lt. Sugar Wash Diluted It Back To 45% Abv Added Baking Soda. Do I Need To Add Acid To It To Redistill It Or Run It Like It Is? I Have Never Used Baking Soda Before So Any Info On This Will Be Nice.

Hi Rigfisher!
Welcome to the Brewhaus Forum! Mtnwalker is probably the soda expert and I'm sure he will be along shortly and tell you everything you always wanted to know about soda. Again...welcome!:)

"Rigfisher, Welcome.

No acid needed or desired. No expert, actually, but do know the soda will convert some of the higher alchahol into the good stuff, and make the cuts much cleaner.

A little BS sometimes is good for ya!"

Mtnwalker2,
Is the average about 1 tablespoon per gallon of low wines...cut to about 45% ABV? Let is sit about a week and mix/shake daily. ...this about right?

3 -4 is more like it. The timing is the ? here. I've always dumped it in the strip as I was filling the pot for the final run, but I believe Mntwalker2 likes to put his in ahead of time. I have a hard time waiting much between runs, I usually run 2 strips on Sat & then the final on Sunday. Maybe I need a little more patience.

The next big discussion will be baking soda vs soda ash.

Yes, 3- 4 TBS. I add it to the carboy as soon as I collect my stripping run and dilute it. Letting it sit for a while helps, but when the heating begins for the spirit run is when it really works fast. So no you don't have to wait. I try to keep several stripping runs ahead, so it can sit a while.
