"Welcome,

My biggest concern would be the temp. of the ferment. 75 is ideal, but anywhere in the 7o's is ok. If the floor is cold put a couple of pieces of 2 X 4 or such underneath so warm air can circulate and insulate it from the floor. If this is the issue, warming it up will solve the problem.
Did you agressively aereate the wash before or during the addition of yeast. They need a lot of O2 for the initial growth in population. If not do so now, perhaps do it again at this point.

Did you use chlorinated water? That wouldn't be good.

I use at least as much cracked corn (it has to be cracked like chicken feed) or a bit more.

At this point you could add a small can of tomatoe paste for additional nutrients and aggitate stir to incorporate O2.
But again, first thing, check the temp. and see and adjust if necessary.

Sorry, should have read as much cracked corn or a bit more than the sugar used.

Thank you for your reply. I have well water with a filter and I have a ph of 5.4. When I fill up my fermentor I use the spray nozzleand the air temp in my home is 76 degrees. I ended up putting turbo 48 in my mash and it worked just fine. I did order some yeast nutrients to use with the whiskey yeast. I am a greenhorn but I am learning something every day. This is the most interesting hobby I have ever had. hope soon I can learn the cooker method using all grains. Its great being able to chat with experience, Thank you
