"In order to become efficient and learn the unit that I have I will need to ask a few questions and I am quite sure that there will be even more to follow.

1. Start with simple sugar wash to get the hang of it?
2. Lowest temperature that mash will ""work"" at?
3. Is methanol an ever present danger or a by product of mistakes?
4. If I am ""cookin"" in my shed, is the tell tale steam a problem with this equipment?
5. Who uses or has used the corn meal mash recipe's on line?

Confused

Must endeavor to learn the terminology first. Blushing"

1. Start with simple sugar wash to get the hang of it? Yes.
2. Lowest temperature that mash will ""work"" at? Try to keep it in the '70's or it will take forever.
3. Is methanol an ever present danger or a by product of mistakes? Not produced in a sugar wash. Grains and fruits will make some, but no more than a beer or bottle of wine. We discard those foreshots with it anyways, so no issues.
4. If I am ""cookin"" in my shed, is the tell tale steam a problem with this equipment? If you have any steam at all, you have an explosive leak. Shut her down and fix it. There shhould be no tell tale steam at all. If cooking your mash, put a charcoal grill in view outside your cooking shed. At this point, all you are doing is makeing a beer, which is legal.
5. Who uses or has used the corn meal mash recipe's on line? Never more. Too hard to rack and filter. I buy feed grains, crack them with a roller mill except corn i buy already cracked- chicken feed. Easy to rack off. I also have a beer brewers keg for mashing and sparging barley runs.

Confused
