just made my first batch 15 lbs sugar 15 lbs corn meal 1 pack turbo yeast been setting in room temp 70* for 7 day still making bubbles smell like beer 6% how wrong have i done

Morris,

Depends. If you made that in only a 25 L fermenter, the meal will take up a lot of room. Not enough water for 15# of sugar. Probably only 4 or 5 actual gallons of water.

Thats going to be a lot of struggle for the yeast. Also, the meal is going to add a lot of extra nuetrients. A half pack of turbo would have been better. Would be fine if you used a bigger fermenter though????"

"Yep, you did not mention how much water.

I'd say split into 2 fermenters then bring up to volume with water.

Igloo water cooler or the like make a fine fermenter. Throw a rag over the top.

layer of Co2 will protect your wash."
