"i INSULATED MY BOILER FOR EFFICIENCY. i ALSO INSULATED THE TOWER ON MY REFLUX STILL THINKING IT WOULD BE MORE EFFICIENT. I READ HERE THAT IN SOME CASES IT IS NOT DESIREABLE (((((oops caps key #$# #$))) Soon i will have 2 towers. an 18 "" pot tower and the 40 inch reflux. I intend to use each one in the maner that they were designed for Should i remove the insulation from the 40 inch reflux and should i add insulation to the 18 inch pot still tower???  "

Look nice! After insulating my tower and boiler the system became a lot more stable and temps didn't change everything the wind blew a little bit! ...really glad I did it!

While I'm not sure what scotty used, I purchased my insulation from Lowe's. Also available at Home Depot. It looks like bubble wrap with a metalic finish. You can use tie wraps or HVAC silver tape to hold it on the tower. Do the cutouts around the water tubes. Needs to be insulated all the way to the top. Insulating the boiler is also a good thing. Just be aware of the flame pattern of your burner. ...Maybe insulate only the top half. If you electric...insulate everything except the bottom.!

"Yep I got it ""reflectix"" am using duct tape ...(not working ..Duh) came bac here to look at pic again and saw comment about tie wraps and reflect tape....off to HD in the morning...
Have now run 5 stripping runs through it and am happy as a clam..
I have lots of info to share on temps and such...
I got WPOSW down to a science now for the EE HC unit....
22 liter wash 10 lbs surgar and done in 4 days....on my 8th set of four now..
I do 4 X 22 ltr buckets at a time and run them in rotation ....
4 fermenting...
4 clearing....
4 stripping...
12 buckets in all...
why 22 liters? thats what fits in the EEHC 7.5 gal kettle....
Each stripping run has netted me 3 to 3.5 ltrs of 40%....perfect for the spirit run after treating with 2 tbl sps of baking soda to convert the ethel acetate to ethanol.....
can't wait to do my first reflex run on Friday.....

Sounds good. Don't use duct tape! Get you some of the silver HVAC...aluminum tape. It's the type used for sealing A/C and heating ducts. Glad that Wineo's sugar wash is working out!
