"Hello,
Well, for my next batches, I've moved from a pure sugar wash to one using All Bran (for more of a vodka) and ""birdwatcher's"" recipe which includes tomato paste and lemon juice.
My question is how clear must the final wash be? Do I need to filter out all the tomato bits somehow? Or, just ""do my best"" to separate things?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Steve"

"Steve, you'll get alot more specific info if you ask the source.
Most these fellas use a turbo, clearing agents and charcoal.
When you recon the ferment is complete, give a good stir to release any gas trapped under the trub. This will help suspended soilids drop and settle. Then rack at least twice if your looking for good and clean. Put in the fridge if you have room. Cold helps clear faster.
All Bran will look like Mountain Dew soda pop. Birdwatcher's will be light pinkish."
