"I believe that I read mtnwalker2 state that it is best to run a ""stripping run"" through the PSII High Cap. with the copper mesh removed. Please elaborate. After doing so and discarding the first 50-100ml of product to dispose of any methanol, how far down do you run the aggregate mash and do you combine it back with the stripped product for the main run?

How does one know when you are getting into the dreaded ""tails"" and fusil olis of a run? Experience?

I intend to insulate the column (loosely) with a commercially available high heat insulation. Is there any gain in attempting to wrap the lower PSII if I am using the 1500 w hot plate with router speed control? I will be setting the rig on a 24 x 24 inch ceramic tile to insulate from the floor.

In this scenario do I use the diffuser plate supplied?

"No need for packing when stripping. Goal is to shed bulk amounts of water.

Jury is out on collecting fores on strip and spirit runs. I only collect fores on spirit run.

Strip to ??% How much time and fuel have you got? Most take it to 20% or so.

Some save feins for a big spirit run. I always add back to the forthcomming run. I only need to run once with my crazy ass rig.

If they supplied you with a defuser,,I'd use it on every run I recon."
