Hey All,
Does anyone know the old Greek story of the 300? 300 Spartans against a told million Persians, and how the Spartans held them all off for a lengthy time? I have Spartan yeast.
Let me explain: I have two 8.5 buckets in which is the 25 liter recipe of water, dextrose and Turbo 48. All goes well, time passes, the proper gravity is reached and I rack off both buckets. Into each I put Super-Kleer. The mext morning one bucket is happily getting clear while the other has started fermenting again!!
Now while I'm not particularly distraught and assume momre yeast got into the second bucket that should have, what I'd liket o know is if, after racking off again, it is ok to super-kleer again? Can I super-kleer twice the same bucket?
Having an adventure every fermentation and distillation.
Yours,
PJ Lily

the story was about 300 greek spartans and 700 thespian and a total 5000+ greeks vs 2,500,000+ persians. It was called the battle of Thermopylae.
The spartans were known for there strong fighting.
even tho they lost about all 300, from spears, arrows and swords. this was told to me from a greek person from sparta. My family is from an island called Limnos and chios in greece.

Yeah and they would have pulled it off to if it hadn't been for that prick Ephialtes. Must have been some powerful Ouzo to stand against the whole Persian army and fight to the last man! The Greeks and ,the rest of the, Spartans however got even at the Battles of Salamis and Plaeata later that year.

Sorry, I was a history major in college.

Hey Guys,
Wow. You guys are so cool. I can't wait for Georgia where I hope to meet a bunch of ya. Not only porch stories, but ancient history as well. Hey Elricko, my speciality is the 30 years war, from the Defenestration of Prague to the Treaty of Westphalia - know anything?
So I did go ahead and rack off a second time for both buckets and had about a half inch of lees,?, at the bottom. I needed to super-kleer only the one Spartan bucket though. Distilling my first super-kleer cleared batch this weekend!
Thanks again guys, y'all seem mighty fine people.
Yours,
PJ Lily

PJ:

Wow when you pick em you pick em. The 30 year war! One of the most convoluted wars of all time. Protestants fighting catholics, calvinists fighting lutherans, Spain trying to subjugate the netherlands, free cities, abbeys, independent duchies, bishoprics...my God can't we all just get along!!! And the poor german states taking the brunt of it. The beginning of the end of the Holy Roman Empire that started with Charlemagne. I think the Westphalia agreement more than anything ended religious wars asserting the international system. What do you think?

Yeah, I've studied it but I would need to review to really converse on it. I think the whole thing could have been prevented had Spain and France just concentrated on the UJSM formula.

PJ, Carcass, Appollo, Elricko,

History guru's. I love history. I don't have the gift to retain those details, thouh as a physics major, I could still turn to a page, with the answer to a question.

Took 2 trips to Isreal,'67 and '82. Both fantastic and memorable experiances. Lots of stuff to buy, for memorabelia, but I chose a wooden collague, by Harry Rosenthall of the 'Masada'. The most embarrassing and dramatic standoff, in all of the Roman history. Being Irish, it hit a note. It is so different there, I can look at this picture and always feel again the taste of the dead sea, and the drama of those times.

Many fun adventures to relate about Isreal , for those that can share the festival in Ga. this Sept.

Bubba, you are our closest contact. Could you line us up with a campsite for a whole hog pig pulling, chicken sides etc. and hotel accomodations ror those that prefer a quiet nights sleep?

Sounds like enough of us already to make a local happy and willing to join us, and with a reasonable camping and cookout fee. Any are welcome gratis, free, at my farm or cave, but at least an hour and a half away. Those that can rough it are more than welcome.

You guys are great. Keep pumping and shareing/
