"I just ran my carbon treated vodka through a few filters, 3 times to be exact. It is still light grey. I did not however treat the carbon with boiling water before i put it into the alcohol. I forgot because i never did it before and didnt review the instruction sheet i had printed out..
Any recomendations????
Can i just save it for a spirit run with the next sugar wash i am preparing to make???
I was really anticipating a taste of it. It smells sooooo good.
Well another learning experience."

I'd boil the carbon a couple of times and bake it in the oven for a couple of hours and then refilter your vodka. I've always had a clear product after carbon filtering.

Still the filtering should have removed such if through good coffee filters. However, since you have an issue the above post is good adbvice."

Maybe ill try the other ones i have. I used the huge filters that the owner of the harley shop gave me. Maybe they are a cheaper commercial grade. I have some from my counter top coffee machine that i will try first. I was thinking that if the dust in the vodka was originally left there from the un washed carbon and is now still in the vodka, why will the cleaned carbon filter it out now? Any thoughts on that???"

Any thoughts on that??? Agreed, the carbon won't filter the dust. The point made was to wash the carbon before adding the first time. Also, to get rid of any chemicals or pollutants left in processing, though I would consider them to be minimal. The carbon itself won't hurt you, as many take activated carbon as a body cleanse. AHA! Now you can tell everyone you are enjoyiing a health drink."

It's getting clearer. maybe ill infuse some strawberry flavor and color the stuff a bit red. Well, i'll never forget to clean the carbon first for the next wash. "
