thanks in advance,,,joe Hey, Joe... I tried to find some info on the ""net"" for you, and came up with a place that had information on ""brining"", and they covered some info on food grade plastics, etc. Here's the link: http://www.virtualweberbullet.com/plastics.htmlDown in that article, they said you should avoid utility buckets from home improvement places. Maybe you can determine from the symbols that they show whether you have a legitimate bucket, or not. Hope this helps some,,, Gary"

I'd only use ones labeled 'Food Grade" or stainless steel. Paint doesn't care if something leaches from the plastic, your liver does. They're $15 - $20 at brew shops.
Ask at Sonic or someplace like that, they get pickles & such in 5 gal buckets.

Hello y'all havent been here in a while just thought I would chime in and say hi, I have using the sterilite bins from wal-mart you know the kind that most people use for storage, and they work great. wal mart has them from real small to real big and they are real cheap. They are kinda flimsy but I just set them on the table and syphen the wash out of them.

If you use anything not labeled "Food Grade" then you are taking your life in your own hands. It may leach, especially in the presents of alcohol, which is a powerful solvent.
