"For a 1500 watt heater and my mashes to clear. i hope to start my low wine runs this monday or tuesday. We just finished insulating the boier and columb. I will later purchase a short 18 inch pot column( it wont be insulated)) for spirit runs so im not worrying too much about how well this will work for the beer run. It will be my first run and i hope that i at least get something from all the work we put into this irish whiskey mash.

Looking good there, I still havent insulated my EEPSI HC yet but I do wrap it with a moving blanket. Dont worry I keep a good eye on it and only use the hotplate and no open flame and it doesnt get that warm at all.

I only insulate the top half of my boiler pot. Living out in Southern Cali, I find myself able to easly control the colomn temp without insulating.
