If you do one run, and remove the Heads & Tails, then do a second run is that entire run hearts?

"NO. Just do the first run without taking anything out. Then take out foreshots, heads, and tails on 2nd run. I save everything but foreshots in a bottle for future distilling by adding them back in on that ""next"" first run. When doing your second run (or 'spirits run"" sometimes called), you should add about a tsp of baking soda per gallon before you start

"Yah - I'm one of those people. I take off 50 - 100ml every run, no matter what. Not really losing anything I'd keep anyway. There's probably not enough methyl to matter anyway, but have you smelled the crap that comes off 1st? Just as soon use it elsewhere.
Tell you one thing - it really does a good job of removing the glue & old foam from speaker cones when you re-foam them."
