"I have been using the Pro 2 with the 2"" column with no problem. My friend got the High Capacity with the 3"" column, and it seems to take a lot more heat and longer to get there. Does anyone know if this is norm or ???. We might try a new burner. We are using a propane fryer type, but I am thinking the flame on his is not right. We are going to try mine next time ???

I'm thinking flame problem too. The boiler is the same size on both, so if the contents are equal then they should heat in the same manner. The HC will produce faster due to it's larger cross section.

Gizy, Pardon my last post. I thought you were saying this was your first run. OH Well.

As for the HC column, it will take a lot more vapot when just starting to boil to fill that large column. Then you want it to reflux a bit to condense and seperate the heads at the top. Then start takeing off.

Heat up issue has always been a problem for me. Just got a 224,000 BTU burner that will boil my 13 gal. in a keg within 15 min. then cut down for the run. My old cast iron turkey fryer would take at least 2 hours. guess I'm impaceint?
cheers!"

"I used the other burner and that was it. Heat up time on 5gal. was 40 min. We are working on the bad one and will get it adjusted. Thanks for your input.
Keep it dripping,
