fish lips Yes. Take all the packing out, and no cooling water. Run it slow and collect in small amounts to make your cuts and too control the flavor to your own taste. Best to cover those small amounts with a coffee filter and let air overnight or 24 hours, then combine to taste and smell. If it doesn't suit you, run it a second time."

Ageing with toasted oak will quiten that down. Also, if it were me, I would do a stripping run first, fast and dirty, no cuts, then the spirit run collecting in small amounts. Your ABV will be higher, and the cuts much easier to make."
