i was searching for one of these for quite a while. i found one in theUK((0 to 80%)) but it will cost mt about $150.00 USD. i decided to pass it up then i came across this on ebay this morning.
I just ordered it.
i want to slow the rate of take off on my runs and believe that the parrot is too eradic- so i will try to eliminate the parrot and take more readings with this refractometer. i hope ir works out.:)"

"Well RF this reminds me of a similar ebay purchase. We went to the chain drug store to buy a tweezer for my yeast experiments and a pait of scissors to keep my ears hairs trimmed.
the scissors were about 15.00 tiny things and the tweasers were about 7 dollars.

i looked on ebay for both items. i got the tweasers shipped to me from china for 1.50 and 2 pair of the scissors for 5.00 ncluding shipping.

the tweasers even had the same flowery design on the grips and the scissors were identical.

the only noticable diference was that both bubble packs had chinese writing on them.


well i believe in buy american but why is it ok for the super stores to buy from other economys and mark up hundreds of percent profit but un american for me to by pass them.

Well RF it hasnt arrived yet but i will try it on mt runs of the sugar wash soon--and report--

ill rig the still with the parrot and take samples from where the hydrometer floats. any other ideas on testing it?????

Only for you purists and wanta do it perfect the first time. Nothing wrong with that. My old brewhaus High Capacity, was limp in the hoses, and copper was getting aged etc. I configured it all up and it ditdnt cost me much more to order a whole new keg distiller unit. I did and now i can run a 2' pot still column as a stripping run while running a 3""x 6' column packed with copper and ss mesh. Magnifies the quality immensly. wouldn't recommend this fof small pots, but works great with a keg or bigger.

The slovenly slow old timer, who just does it the old and simple way. And enjoys it."

well some things are finally sinking in MW I just removes a couple of valves and some wierd looking hose connections from the water lines on my CM rig--
Yesterday i finally saw how the wash controlls the head temperatur. I actually did it for 2 runs in a row.
I'm still glad i have the variac to cut back the voltage to a minimum once the head temperature gets close to 170F
