I have seen several times on videos and movies of old time moonshiners catching thier product into a funnel and laying in the funnel some sort of clothlike white filter thang and thier product passes thru that and then into thier container anybody have any idea what that is?????

Mtnwalker would probably know but he hasn't been on for a while. I've used coffee filters to keep the crud from the old condensing coil I used to use out of the product. Whatever they used was probably for the same reason.

I bet all of those programs you saw were running stills outside in the woods right????? Those rags were to catch bugs and stuff from gettin in their hooch thats all. A makeshift filter if you will.
