"Years ago I used to deer hunt about 30 miles outside Waycross Ga. On warmer days I used to help the land owner (elderly southern gentleman) run his ancient pot still and thought I had learned a little about distilling. Now I am retired and ready to start my own hobby (wink). I am building a propane heated unit from a 15 gal keg with a colume that can run in reflex or pot mode. My problem is since I started lurking on this site my confidence in what I am about to undertake is diminishing rapidly. Reading all of the posts here, it seems what I think I have learned in the past dosent apply. I seem to have gone from ""boy heres how you do it"" to reading rocket science. Does any one know of of an A to Z guide on setting up fermenting mash, running, cutting and quick aging plain ol corn likker.

Cheers Ron

"Hey Ron,
So,,,one of the best things about this hobby is that you can make it as complicated or as simple as as your comfort level will allow. From chemists to backwoods likker makers.

homedistller.org has sections on the forums that have been specifically put together/organized for new distillers. The information is all there. Spend some time reading in the ""new distillers reading lounge"" till you can connect the dots from your memories to the info contained within the forums.

Good luck and seeya round
Larry"
