In the first stages of fermentation, a krausen ,foam head, will usually build up. As fermentation continues, this foam will disappear back into the wash. Often it does not entirely fall back into the wash, leaving behind a few bits of foam floating on the top of the wash, looking like an infection. It is nothing to be concerned about.
