Hoping to get an opinion on this style of pot head design as well as its stainless steel versus copper construction. Maybe some of you have some experience with it.

My reason for asking is that I'm thinking about buying another 8 gallon boiler and need another head and the pot method is more to my liking than reflux.. Yeah, I know that I could use my 2 inch copper column but that wouldn't be any fun now would it ? .

I think it would work just fine. It looks to me like it would be a little harder to clean than the straight up column. If you use the copper mesh in the column I'd prefer the SS again for simple reason of easy cleaning. Does it have a way of mounting a thermometer to monitor column temps?
