"Scotty, this is something that I too wondered for a long while. In my way of thinking, if your making stripping runs and your adding them back anyway, I would think just add everything back and take them off on the last run. Now again the heads may be THREE times as much on the last run????? That would be an interesting test. But if you cant smell I'm not sure how your gonna pick it apart. Another way to look at it is........the temp scale, say what????? You know as you move through the temp scale towards heatup thats how and where and also why we get the heads and forshots. If you have the ability to reflux for a good 30 mins or as long as your unit takes to get to the ethonol temp zone you could just reflux and leave all the heads in the boiler. So -- turn on the heat an letter run for a while then after your at the right temp let it reflux for a while and then start your collection. My unit is very plain so I cant do this but in theary it should work. I would still toss forshots just to be sure. Again temp scale usage might be the answer. "

"ITS A SMALL POT STILL it wont reflux. perhaps the safest way is to save 150 ml on the stripping run then at least 100 then 50 ml on the second and third runs. Definitely i will use temperature as a guide also.
I'm goin to run 3 7gallon batches of potcheen wash when i et back to florida after thanksgiving. perhaps ill have some more understanding after that. ill also solicit help sniffing.
thanks for the input"

It was suposed to be Irish style whiskey but when i found FROM THE FELLAS ON the Irish whiskey society that it should have been malted barley instead of the flaked barley and enzymes that i was using, i called it potcheen.(( irish moonshine)) i will be running it next week when i get back to florida. it will be a revelation to me also lol"
