"I am going to do a pot still on a keg and I have a choice of sizes.

I can go with a 1/4 keg, short and round. Or I can go with one the is the same height as a standard sanke keg but half the volume.

Which one is better....I am thinking the short, fat one because of more surface area exposed to boil off....Am I right?

I will be using propane..."

yea more surface is better if they are the same size the tall skinnyer one is a little more dangerous due to possible tipping anyways from what ive read/heard

Since I started I have amassed one of each...the regular keg that we all know then one thats just that tall but as round as a dinner plate, then one as round as the regular keg but kinda squat ( half as tall-half keg I think) I still use the thin tall one I cant say why I just like it better. No real issue with tipping but I can see where that might be a concern.
