What's the best way to remove the column bung during cool down? I had a Dicken's of a time. Any suggestions on a safe & easy technique?

i was going to say if you can pull out the thermometer and stick somthing in the hole and pry from the bottom

"Thanks gentlemen. I ended up using a screwdriver to pry it out. I guess I was a tad aggressive when I put it. It just fit so nice an snug ... but I ended up with that feeling you get after shooting an arrow straight up in the air ... you suddenly realize it'll soon be coming right back down at you! 8-o

I have a pair of pliers that I use to attach the water hose clips. Works fine grabbing the edge of the bung to pull it out.
