I am purchasing the PSII and was wondering if anybody has any input on weather to use a propane burner or the hot plate? I don't really like the idea of the fluctuating heat with the hot plate.

I don't really like the idea of the fluctuating heat with the hot plate. The hotplates usually get thier thermostat controlls by passed by the purchaser then a variac or router speed control is used to vary the applied voltage. This allows you lower or raise the applied heat while avoiding the on off efect of the regular thermostat control. the propane is very much hotter and also infinitly variable."
