"Am new to distillation and ready to order PSII High Capacity Complete Distiller with 8 gal premium kettle or most likely 15 gal upgrade. Am concerned the 1500 watt hot plate will not provide adequate heat or hold up under weight, esp. with the 15 gal. kettle. Can someone let me know if these are issues, especially with the 15 gal. kettle, and maybe what heat up time and distillation time to expect?

I want to order the kettle with a 1"" NPT fitting to allow the option of an internal heating element to use if needed. Could anyone share their experience with this in either the 8 gal. or the 15 gal. kettle? Does it work, is scorching an issue, etc.

If so, can I use a 1500 watt ten dollar zinc plated copper water heater element with a controller of some sort and just replace it as needed or must I use a $200 stainless or incoloy element? Thanks for any help anyone can provide."
