"Hey to all the forum members, mods, admins. New guy here. As I grew up my Dad was always making wine and brewing beer. When I was 13 I wanted to distill and my Dad ( an engineer ) made me a deal, if I could make a mash he would build me a still. Well I was trying to malt (sprout) my own barley and failed. I was using treated seed. I think my Dad knew quite well. So I gave up to my Dad's delight. That was almost 40 years ago and I find myself now getting extremely close to purchasing a HC unit from Brewhaus. I have two questions.
1. What is the smoothest stuff you have produced and what is it's base - corn apple's sugar etc. The stuff you let your friends try when you want to show off.

2. Has anyone tried using header wrap to insulate the pot when using propane as I will be doing? Gear head here and exhaust header wrap will insulate and not burn on race car exhaust so I may add that to the lowest sides of pot if no one else has by the time I purchase my rig. No one wants flaming insulation on a brand new shiny Brewhaus rig."

No still saving my pennies. I do want to try it on the lower sides of the boiler but it will still be a while before I can.
