"Hello guys I have finally got to use my new 8 gal tri clamp kettle, and wow it is nice.
I have been using a keg which is so hard to clean, I would usually leave it to soak with a little Clorox and water for several days before rinsing the hell out of it and hoping for the best.
Now I can reach my arm to the bottom of the pot and know it is clean before returning it to service.
I need no funnel to charge the pot either.
The Aluminum defuser plate didn't last for the first batch as it melted within the first 20 minutes, I might get one cut from 1/2"" alumunum and try that.
I think the kettle should be offered with or without the diffuser plate or maybe offer a thicker plate as an option, but a turkey frier burner will melt the one that comes with the kettle."

If you melted your defuser plate, you had your heat too high.

I use this burner and have never came close to melting mine.

My plate that came with my SS kettle was actually a laminated plate with aluminum on one side and SS on the other. SS goes toward the fire!
