"I made a batch of ""Sweet Feed Whiskey"" that I cant stand to smell or even taste. My question is can I throw that in a kettle along with some tails and a new batch of mash, distill it again and strip the bad flavor, using a reflux with a thumper. What might be a good mash to neutralize the smell and taste, or should I throw it out?
Thanks"

"I was planning on IF I added to a low alcohol mash diluting it down to a combined 12-15%. just a little at a time.

I was curious if the smell and taste would distill out and what type of mash may help absorb them. Suggestions are welcome

I am running a home built setup. The reflux I mentioned is not as prevalent as I would expect in one of the high end models but is it noticeable over a straight pot design (I can switch between the two fairly easy). I am using the Thumper as a filter and to bump up the ABV. Stainless pot, Copper riser, Copper heat exchanger, and Copper drip line."

If you put that bag in the freezer it'll last for years so dont toss it yet. Or take out and store in smaller bags in the freezer that will work just fine.

sorry forgot to add.....measure 4 inches in a 5 gallon bucket and put that in a freezer ziplock bag for the next sweetfeed wash -- that will make it really easy to pick a bag and get to fermenting.BigGrin
