Got industrious today and am trying to run two four gallon fermenters full of a partially cooked cornmeal wash. Its been sitting a good while over a month at least. Seemed to smell and taste ok. Still waiting for the hotplate to bring it up to temps. Shouldnt be much longer. PS Edit: Well got it over in record time six hours from start to finish including warm up for the hotplate. Got at least 2 qts. plus. Wont know till tomorrow or the next day for sure.

Just got done trying out a small sample of 90proof that I had on oak in and out of frig daily been six weeks. I added one bottle of essence (ledgen whiskey) about 4 weeks ago. I was going to let this sit for 6mo. I am glad I tried it out. I think it would have had to much oak if left that long.I see no way this will make the 6mo date. This may not have the same taste as crown but I belive I would take it over crown in a taste test. From a long time crown man that is saying a lot. Hope yours comes out every bit as good.

Sounds good on the Crown facsimile. Bet its every bit as good. I have sorta got lazy on the bourbon production here lately. Still have quite a few chipped up bourbon jars setting empty. Seems like it less hassle to proof it up and drink it white. I got to quit being so lazy one of these days. Thanks for the hopes...sampled a wet finger or two as it came out. Seems like it taste about like normal. May work up enough energy to go sniff it out and pour it together here in a bit.

Hey Tex it seemed to turn out pretty good. Caught slightly less than 2.5 qts which show to be 170 proof when mixed together. Got it proofed and jugged up yesterday and come up with about a gallon of 90-95 proof drinking material. That free corn sounds like a winner. Now you dry it out and make hooch or eat it with butter..lol.

Heeler posted a killer sounding recipe for fresh corn down in the whiskey section. Might be a plan.
