"If you already make mead you are 80% there. Distilling is kind of an art, you get better as you do it. If you reflux distill it makes no difference what you started with, it will end up as neutral spirit, like vodka. Your mead begs for pot distillation to preserve the character and subtleness of the honey. Sorry, didn't answer your question about a book. Read this website: http://homedistiller.org/"

Don't worry about a book just yet. There is a lot of info for you here and you can get a good start just reading the things that have been posted. What type of still do you have or are you shopping around for something. What type of hooch are you wanting to make and how refined do you want it to be. You can make this as easy or hard as you care to.

Excellent choice, same as my rig and many others here. Be sure to get the premium "milk can". PSII allows you to do both pot and reflux distilling....versatile

Good start for a still but do upgrade the pot you wont be sorry. Don't try for the moon right at the first. Find a sugar wash and run a few batches just to learn how your still drives. I am sure you will like it.

"First , if you have experience fermenting you have been doing the part that is extremely important in making both whiskeys and vodkas.
PS11 high cap with upgraded boiler is my choice too. I have mile high rigs but this brewhaus stuff is superior in a couple of design features too. I was never sorry that i bought it. I like the 8 gallon boiler because most batches are a bit less than that. Get brewhaus to install a 1 inch NPT coupling so you can use electric. You can plug it if you want to start with propane.
OK BW What is ""happy hooching""????????????????"
