Well, got through my first 5 gallon wash, and I think I did pretty well. Got about 2/3 gallon of good hooch. Taste testing now. A bit sweet, and quite a kick to it! Made a big difference letting the last 3 gallons of wash sit for an extra week. Didn't plan it that way, but a lesson learned. I guess the mash wasn't quite ready after 7 days, as I wasn't getting the production I was expecting. Mixed with the first couple pints, turned out good. Thinking next run will need a new still though. Running a gallon at a time is a royal pain! Ah well, let the building begin! I know it would be easier to just order one, but building is a learning experience and WAY more fun!

YOU BET THEY DO,,,,,,,,In fact WE in courage it!!!!!!! I am finallay get in it.......(Control the hot,,,,,,,,master the cold.......you sly willie you!) I am finding that if you are thinking crank up the old condensor........gets you bettter.......but in fact what I am finding is if you turn down your cold side.......more volumn.....correct me i8f I am worong...........Man I love this site......and my buddy hoochers........ I golf......but this is way more fun!!!!!!!BW I will get back to ya with the verdict..........

Thanks Big, and you're absolutely right fats! I've just started and this is crazy fun! I'm not really concerned with the reflux stills, I just like good raw whiskey, even if I am a bit of a wimp and use a bit of mix LOL.

No-wipe'em tribe I'm sure!!!!!!:) Ok got a question?????? I have bout a gal of 76 proof, I want to throw it back in the pot by itself to see what happens.........do I still chuck that 1st 50 to 100 ml????????  OOPS! I have a pint of 90 also should I thrown it all back to the wolves???????

hahahahahah, had a pint whata go,,,,,its missing a couple shots now....lol put a splash of peach water in it......man its tasty!!!!!!!! Think I have figured out a way to turn my little pot into a pot,refluxer mid stream......gonna try to draw a pic and get your opinyawn before I go to cutting on my column!!!!! Thanks for the info, I am only gonna try out the gal and the pt, don't think I'll end up with a cup of methyl-ethyl-bad stuff.....your thoughts?????

hahahahah can't tell ya Big.....lol No, I run about 2.5 gal a time through my pot and I dump about 1/4 pt mason jar each time.....Your pretty Awesom Big....I did that run on the straight hooch and WOW! My Bro in law is saying "i Told you so" I said you might have but I would still perfer an expurts opinyawn!!!!! but I went from 100 proof to 140 in my pot. I noticed that the themometer was more correct then running striaght mash in it, I am about 9 degrees off running mash because of the elev. 6600 ft. Thanks Doc, I'll keep trying to upload, I used that photobucket like you said and I still only got half a pic......must not have had it resized correctly......Thanks friends.....
