Hello Scott, I know you asked for a 'NEW' recipe for vodka, but I wonder if you ever tried 'Prestige Vodka Yeast' with your sugar wash? This yeast is specially formulated for making vodka and doesn't leave you with those 'nasties' you mentioned. The packet says it can ferment up to 17%, and it can, but Just don't try for the maximun abv with anything! Cause this is where you will get whatever 'nansties' that may be present in your wash, no matter what kind of yeast you use. You can get this yeast from Brewhaus America. If you have already tried this and still want to make vodka the hard way, let us know and I will give you what I have. I have a dandy recipe that uses real potatoes and includes plain YOGURT! I'm sorry but I can't say that I have personally made vodka with this recipe, so that's why I didn't provide it in full. I'm still happy with the 'Prestige and sugar wash. Lotsa luck, Spiritmaker
