"Well I have decided to scale up a little....... This is my 55 Gallon Stainless Steel boiler. I'm gonna start running 50 gallons of 14%ABV wash each run. I picked up the barrel at Bubba's Barrels: http://www.bubbasbarrels.com/On a side note.... I was very pleased with the quality of the barrel and the other things I purchased from Bubba's Barrels. I recommend them if you are in the market for a stainless barrel! These are my 55 Gallon fermenters: Please understand that I can legally distill ethanol. I have a Alcohol Fuel Producer Permit from the TTB. Be aware that it is illegal to distill spirits in the USA with out either a AFP (Alcohol Fuel Plant) or DSP (Distilled Spirits Plant) Permit from the TTB. (Tobacco Tax & Trade Bureau)" |

Very Nice. I do not believe I have ever seen a S.S. barrel. Is that just the lid to a 5 gal bucket and it it used for a larger opening?

I took a 25 liter fermenter bucket and cut the top off of it, leaving a lip. Then I cut a circle in the top of the barrel and slid the fermenter bucket top into it. Then i used some small screws to attach it to the barrel and then siliconed around it to make it air tight. |

Well it is very cool. I will take some pictures tonight after work of our fermenter. We also built a reflux still and are using a S.S. milk can for the boiler. It holds 6 gallons, breaks down so it can be cleaned. Next time we set it up to run I'll post some pics of it too. I may have some on my phone I can post now come to think of it.

(comments by bigwheel and subsequent responses removed) That was a legitimate question from a new member- one who has not been here long enough to be familiar with the past issues. You turned that into an opportunity to insult my moderator. I am done running around cleaning up offensive posts. Goodbye, bigwheel.

A Very Big THANKS TO YOU Rick.
You may consider an announcment in a different thread as this one is liable to be sidetracked.

We will just have to see if the thread veers off. If so then we will start a new thread and move the off-topic stuff. Now that BW is gone I do not foresee threads going off-topic so much, so I think that these few posts will be alright. :)
