What does this mean? "8) Bumping of posts is discouraged."

Sometimes when someone wants to get a little more action on one of his own threads he will just make a post with the word " BUMP" or some other non pertinent information in it. That will bring the thread into everyones attention in the new threads forum. This is not illegal. Some folks abuse/use this action to bring back up rediculous. Thats why Rick only discourages it. There are many instances where a productive thread will be bumped by any one.

Precisely. We have not had a problem with bumping on this forum, but I have seen it elsewhere, so I thought that it was best to incorporate it into the rules. :)
