Hi guys, I purchased a submersible heater from brewhaus.com a couple weeks ago and recently tried to use it. I set it to about 115F and monitored it. At first it took forever nearly 5 hours to get to 115F,I live in the north country, it's cold here, and then it dipped to about 112F and stayed there all night and into the morning. Then, out of no where, it set off my thermometers alarm at 125F. It was unplugged and later that evening it was plugged back in again and set the alarm off at 145F. Any idea why it would be doing this? If it is the IC, any suggestions to limiting the wattage so I can still use it. I'm not sure if I can return it as I clipped the plastic tails off the plug so I could get it through the hole in my AmazingStill's lid. Any help would be great. Thanks.

If it's faulty return it for replacement.
The bottom line is that you didn't get what you
paid for.

well, after further diagnosis it has been determined that the thermometer is busted. Lucky me. At room temperature, around 63 degrees F, the temp says that it is 116F. I guess that's better than the heater going, atleast I can still make a tasty hooch, assuming the heater keeps a constant temp.
