Due to slight inconsistencies in thermometers it is ok to distill at a consistent temperature such as 77.7 what you are doing is collecting the azeotrope of alcohol that is stable at that 'temperature' chances are that's the 95% level. Consider finishing up when the stable temperature starts rising or falling. Goto http://homedistiller.org/ and read the theory tab
