"Just ordered ""The Alaskan Bootlegger's Bible"" and looking at Ian Smiley's ""Making Pure Corn Whiskey"" are there any other informative books out there that you can suggest? What are some good books with recipes for the beers, wines and spirits?
Thanks,
NS"

"A really good beer brewing book is ...Brewing Classic Styles, 80 of em to be exact.

Authors...Jamil Zainasheff and John Palmer

I found the Alaskin Bootleggers Bible to be dissapointing in reference to bootlegging, by that I mean the reference of bootleggers might seem to mean likker but that book is all about wild berry wines and such. Not a terrible read but kinda pissed me off that I bought it for one thing and it refernce another, oh well."

Thanks Heeler,
I'll check out the book you suggested. I saw the Bootlegger Bible recommended in a few spots on the web as a must-read, hope I'm not disappointed too. Here is the book description on the amazon site:
How to make beer, wine, liqueurs, cider and moonshine whiskey. The author dusts off over 30 years of experience to tell you how it's done. He not only tells how to make darned near any kind of beer, wine, liqueur and whiskey you can imagine, he also tells you how to make the equipment to do it with."
