"I need any help I can get with this plate http://www.amazon.com/Ca...keywords=1500w+hot+plate

It runs my psII 8 gallon too hot! I tried running it lower last night and it just cycles off and on, one min I'm running too fast (slow steady stream) with the tower water flow on full, the next it switches off and my temp drops to 150 and flow stops! Frustrating!

I can't find the links to mod the hotplate. I need help or to be pointed in the right direction.

Thanks!"

Also, does anybody have any experience with this? http://www.amazon.com/18...amp;coliid=IT9JOGRU576Y0

I have the induction kettle, would be nice to just program in that I want it to run at 180 or something and forget it. But have no idea if it would work or if it would be crushed or never heat up enough.

Are you using the diffuser plate with the unit? If so then the effects of cycling should be minimized.

Did you purchase the unit from us? All of our kettles come with a diffuser plate. It is a thick aluminum disc that goes between the heat source and the kettle.

No. I wish I did. You were out of stock when I ordered it. Here is a link to what I bought. http://www.amazon.com/Ca...keywords=1500w+hot+plate

you must by pass the hotplate and use a router speed control to vary the applied voltage-- the heat must be at a minimum and must never cycle

Sorry- I was referring to the kettle. Was the kettle / distiller from us? If so it would have a diffuser plate included.

Yep. I have the psII with the 8 gallon and its the induction kettle. Don't think I got a diffuser plate. Just ordered it in November.

I could not find you in the system, which is why I asked. The diffuser plate is just a thick aluminum disc, and would have been packed at the bottom of the box with a piece of foam between it and the kettle.

I tore that whole box apart and I don't remember seeing that. Is there a way I can PM you and give you my info? In fact I have a pending order with you right now for some bottles and stoppers and glycerine and essences. I've also ordered yeast a couple of times and a few essecenses and carbon. I think this is about my 4th order. Can I buy another plate and have you ship it with my current order?

I have been known to miss PMs, so it would be best to e-mail me directly via the e-mail address on the website. It is not a problem to add to a current order if it is not packed. :)

I found a 1/2" (3/8" would work fine as well) thick aluminum diffuser plate works excellent for maintaining even heat spread. Took the tip from Mike
Mile High, went to the local scrap yard, bought a 12" x 12" piece, cut it to fit the ID of the kettle bottom. I run a rheostat also, which works very well, double check temps with laser thermometer. If you bought your unit from Brewhaus, I'm sure they can hook you up with your missing diffuser plate, as you couldn't miss this thing in your package. Best of luck to you.

All you have to do is to turn it upside down. Remove the bottom. See the wire coming out of the dial control, follow that to the heating element and unplug it. Now take the wire that goes into the other side of the dial and pull it off and plug it into the element . That will make the unit heat full all the time. The dial won't work and you have to unplug it to turn it off."
