i used some small glass marbles to fill my column instead of copper or rings....taste of the spirit was very good and and the marbles were a lot easier to clean and work with...has anybody ever tried this method...i would like to hear from you...thanks

General rule of thumb is; the more surface area the more efficient the reflux process ,more for the steam to interact with,.
Hence I"d recommend the copper mesh as well. SHOULD give you a higher proof drip. Never tried glass marbles before so I cant tell yaUserPostedImageIf you"re up to 94-96% with glass, go for it!
