"Posted in wrong area I think, New to Forum, first post and starting with a big thanks to all for all the insight and help they routinely share.
Been studying for a few years now and yes before the tv show. Built my first apparatus just to prove I could and ran several variations of sugar shine and sweet feed. Mediocre results and enjoyed the process. Now ready to quit playing and turn out some good stuff. First batch of corn on the way and about 2 weeks from purchasing keg kit from brewhaus and have some questions. Any help and knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
1. Can I soak and sprout corn in a kiddie pool or does it have to damp burlap or something like that? 2. Once sprouted do I still need to crack it or just cook it? 3. If I really don't want to run my stuff twice but still what to produce good whiskey can I just use reflux column and just give it a little reflux action? 4. If I do have to run it again, do I completely clean out my pot and and just put the liquid I gathered in or put some water in too? 5. Someone told me to save the left over gunk in bottom of pot for another batch? I was just under the impression that you saved the heads and tales for the the next batch?
Thanks again in advance and remember this ""YOU KNEW THE JOB WAS DANGEROUS WHEN YOU TOOK IT!"" Super Chicken 1967"

Don't all jump in at once now HAHA, Feel like the new kid in school. Perhaps I will start with an idea I had and see if anyone likes it, hates it or if it is ok? I found this stainless sink strainer deal in the kitchen isle at the store. Sits down perfect in a quart jar. Lined it with a coffee filter and then packed my activated carbon in it so that every drip from my worm has to go through it. I rinsed my carbon with water first to get all the black dust off. Holds about a 1/2 cup of carbon. Comments, thoughts.....Bueller....Bueller Matteaux "YOU KNEW THE JOB WAS DANGEROUS WHEN YOU TOOK IT!" You could use a thumper to give you you the double distill taste in one go. They're fairly simple to make.

You won't with a reflux..but you'll strip all your favors. I assume you're wanting to make whiskey since you mentioned corn.

Posted a recipe idea not sure if it going to give me what I want or not. I was under the impression the longer you refluxed the more you stripped? Also thought the more stuff, i.e. copper mesh, twists turns and so on, the harder the vapor has to work to get to condenser the more pure? I could be thinking wrong, like I said I'm still pretty green."
