"Well it's certainly a no-no during a reflux run ... there should be no debate about that ... another hard lesson I learned from several unfortunate personal experiences.  I never did a pot run with the thermostat enabled ... so I don't know what it would do ... but I think it would drive me nuts while trying to get the collection rate adjusted."

How do you know if your stove top cycles? I have a thermometer in my lyne arm and it stay at a constant when I distill
