Hello all..... I am new to distilling, but have been a beer brewer for over 20 years. I have started building my first still and would like some.Ifeedback on Imy design ...I started with a standard beer keg and a stainless
bowl. My tower is 3 feet of 1 1/2 copper with at the top and a cap drilled for a thermomter. Here is where the question comes. On the arm, can I aimit slightly up to get a little reflux or is it better to go down towards the coil? Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

"Hey Blaze, search and find these threads....if you haven't cut the top out of the keg yet you can attatch the tower to the keg easier than cutting and then making a bowl attatchment. Attatching a colume to a keg...... Beer keg going electric.....  "

Now back to your question, the answer is no, why you say, well once the vapor leaves the tower and is on it's way to the condenser its too late for more reflux. Its time for the vapor to be condensed back to a liquid. Theres no need to fret about it though just try to follow proven designs, check out the forum and find still that people have used in a tried and true way."

Try using packing/scrubbers.
