"Hey guys. I got a bunch of blueberrys and want to make a wash with it. Just bought the lalvin ec-1118 yeast. How many packs do I need to do a 6.5 gallon wash and how much sugar?"

Blueberry Brandy sounds good to me. I would use one pack of EC-1118 that's what I use also. As far as suger goes my guess would be 8 to 10 pounds should do the job for you. Keep in mind that EC-1118 is a slow working yeast it make take it three weeks to get done. Let us know how this turns out.

"1-2 packs should use all the sugar you add. I bet 8-10 lbs would be plenty, (now you say well make up your mind) neither is wrong just different. Either method will produce ethanol but its the distillation method that will matter most. Once your mash is done fermenting if you use a reflux tower that will remove lots if not all of what you just worked so hard to get. Now if you use a goose neck tower (or what most call a pot still) and run your heat kinda on the hot pushy side it will push that BB flavor over to your distillate. And even then it will be kinda light but no worries if its not as intense as you like just add some BB extract to the finished product, (to taste) that has worked for me anyway."
