"Hey Guys, From southern WV, 50 years old and retired and thought I would try my hand at this, grew up around my grandfather who made some great stuff from what I am told back during the great depression, just to put food on the table, he was also a coal miner like my Day, both deceased. Started out with one of those angle double thumper stills, it was okay, but not right for me, then I went with a mile high reflux, a good still, but I wanted something better, so I bought a Brewhaus PSII High Capacity, which I am very pleased with, and will prolly move up to something better, maybe a platted flute, or build my own. The reason I got into this , I remember people talking about my Grandfathers product from Western Virginia all the way to Eastern Kentucky. Some of the stuff around here is horrible, so what I am making now is far superior, still not the best like my Grandpop, but still better. This is a great forum and I have learned a lot just in a couple of days. So, I have bunches to learn and hope I am excepted well. Here is a picture of my rig. Welcome, NewShine!
However, with your prior experience, you might be named "OldShiner"!
Cool looking rig you got. Of course, we're partial to favorites here on this site.
Please share anything you can remember from your grandfather you can recall. :)
