Hi beer-baron, Welcome to the forum, nice handle do you do home brew? I know BH has two different size holes in there bungs one for the digital and one for the lab thermometers, looks like you got the wrong size. I'm still waiting on still order but I ordered a extra bung with no hole so I can just drill my own hole to fit a different thermometer that I will be using... I would contact BH and see if they will send you the correct bung. It is supposed to be a tight fit so no vapor can leak out. You can try wrapping some tape or something around it in the mean time but if you are using gas or propane be careful of leaks... Captinjack

The incorrect bung was sent (wrong size hole). Please e-mail us directly so that we can pull up your order and send out the correct bung.
