I was wondering what was the best product to use to clear my wash. In my wash i have pears, oranges and of course the norm. sugar and yeast.

I'm not trying to be a smart-
$$, but IMO yeast selection, time and cold temperature (about in that order) does the best job. Beyond that I tried sparkolloid a few times. It worked. But even that requires time and cold temps accelerate things.

Your wash doesn't have to clear to run it. I don't even try to clear my rice washes. But I always rack my sugar washes and let them sit in the cold for at least three days or so.

hey John what kinda recipe do you have for a rice wash. Always wanted to try one

Hey John, if you haven't already then please post your rice wash recipe in the recipe section.


As far as clearing - yep - just wait a little bit. I usually wait 2 weeks after fermenting stops & run it. It's plenty settled by then (sugar wash)

Ditto on both ratflingers posts, plz post the rice recipe and time/cool temp are really the 'cheapest' and best ways to settle and clear your wash. IMHO.."
