Alright guys long time lurker and distiller but first time poster.

I am using the essential extractor II still in reflux mode and using a turkey cooker set on extreme low to heat it. Last week I ran off 5 gallons of sugar/rye wash using the turbo vodka yeast and the product I got was cut to 90 proof was drinkable but had a little harsh taste. I have charcoal ordered but was talking to an old moonshiner here in Ky who said that when he used to run he would always double his liquor. I know that out still blows and old pot still out of the water but as an experiment I thought what the heck lets try it.

So....I put 5 quarts of the last batch back in the pot and ran it off in about 5 hours. All I can say is WOW!!!!!! I have heard people say that they have had moonshine that was like water, let me tell you this stuff is that smooth when cut to 85-90 proof with distilled water. The smell is very minimal and when chilled only warms the back of the throat on the way down.

Before I get flamed I know this is an inefficent way to produce primo stuff and yes I was getting +92% from the head of my still the whole time during distillation without a lot of cycling.
But to make small bathes of above excellent liquor this for your stash this is the way to go.
